A sightseeing submarine carrying dozens of tourists sank off the coast of Hurghada, Egypt, claiming the lives of six Russian nationals. The Sindbad tourist submarine, which was on a routine coral reef excursion, went down approximately one kilometer from shore, with 45 passengers onboard, including tourists from India, Norway, and Sweden.
Preliminary reports suggest the vessel may have submerged with its hatches open, leading to the disaster. Egyptian authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, raising concerns about safety measures in recreational submarine tours across the Red Sea region.
