
A shocking stabbing spree near Dam Square in central Amsterdam left five people wounded, including two American tourists. The attack unfolded around 3:30 p.m. on Sint Nicolaasstraat, a busy shopping street, sending panic through the area as bystanders heard chilling screams.
The victims include a 67-year-old American woman, a 69-year-old American man, a 26-year-old Polish man, a 73-year-old Belgian woman, and a 19-year-old Dutch woman. A brave passerby intervened, helping to subdue the suspect before police arrived.
Authorities have not yet determined a motive and are investigating whether the victims were randomly targeted. The suspect, who was injured during the arrest, remains in the hospital as officials work to piece together the details of the violent attack.
