The Trump administration recently declassified and made available thousands of previously classified records concerning the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This release is part of an ongoing effort to make historical documents more accessible to the public.
While many JFK assassination files had already been disclosed, including a significant batch of 13,000 documents released under the Biden administration, many of these still contained redactions. Trump emphasized the long wait for this information, stating that “people have been waiting for decades” to access these crucial records. Shortly after taking office, he signed an executive order directing the release of thousands of documents concerning not only Kennedy’s assassination but also those of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., making them available for public review.
